In today's competitive credit card market, how do you entice consumers to sign up for your credit card offering? Instead of giving them a pen, or a throw-away Teddy Bear, give them an experience–a Virtual Reality experience. This was the thought process behind the Citibank Virtual Reality initiative in the United Kingdom. The 3D Sensory Theater was incorporated into a kiosk that offered a complementary Virtual Reality experience after a credit card was applied for.
The results were outstanding. Within the first three weeks of the installation alone, Citibank realized a four-fold increase in card sign-ups.
